Below is a call-to-action email forwarded to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation members in Colorado.
Hunting is on the Colorado ballot, so as you receive your ballot in the coming days it is imperative that you vote NO on Proposition 127. Once you vote, make sure your hunting friends and family do the same! Almost as important as voting yourself is educating the nonhunting public and urging them to also vote no.
To send a clear message to the media and the public, the Vote No campaign is organizing a rally on the west steps of the Capitol (200 E Colfax Ave in Denver) on Friday October 18th from 11 AM to 2 PM. If attending, please by there at 11 AM. It falls between the 1st and 2nd seasons, so we are hoping to get hundreds of RMEF members to attend.
If you have a Facebook account, we encourage you to take a moment and follow these four simple steps:
- Go to the ‘No on Prop. 127 Rally’ Facebook event page.
- Click ‘Going.’
- Invite your friends.
- Share the event on your Facebook page.
The rally will be outside so dress for the weather, but hunting jackets and RMEF-logoed clothing would be great. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Homemade signs with tasteful messages (Vote No on 127, Hunting is Conservation, Science over Politics, etc.) are encouraged.
Having a big crowd is one way to cut through the spin and show that Prop 127 is wrong for Colorado!
